With the World Scout Jamboree now back on, set for South Korea in '23, Scouts all over the world have been applying for places to it!
Of course not everyone who applies gets a place, and so Hampshire County Scouts have set up a separate expedition for everyone who applied to the WSJ but did not get a place - they have also done this for several previous WSJs.
Normally they are in a similar location, with a stop-off at the WSJ site, but this proved a little tricky for '23.
So instead, a three week expedition through Europe! All details to be confirmed, but currently the plan is to start by spending a few days in the Netherlands, coach trip to Belgium and spend a few days there, and then finally to Germany.
This should be amazing. All the Scouters going have been split into six groups - but those groups have been fully mixed so both youth and adults will have to make new friends for the trip.
We've already had our first group training weekend where leaders and youth finally met in person and started to get to know each other. There's a few more of these before the expedition where we (leaders) will be running teambuilding activities, skills courses (such as first aid), and general fun.
