So this time I got a lift into San Francisco and saw different touristy parts - the Civic Centre, Union Square, a better look at the Castro District and a long walk through China town. On the way in there was a slight detour... a trip round part of the Stanford University Campus with some stunning views & photographs. A walk round the sports area saw some rather nice topless guys exercising and practicing, although seeing all the other students in proper full on suits was a little odd.
That carried on to S-F, looking at all the civic buildings and a mini Trafalgar Square. This was in danger of becoming a rather cultural visit to the bay area, so after the look-round Union Square we took a short walk up to China Town (and then a long walk through it, and back again).
The day out finished with a walk back through Castro; I wish I could have stayed out longer (looked through Japan Town, maybe actually stayed out late enough for a proper drink or something), however jet-lag was catching up with me so I had to call it a day.
